***Thanks to all the students who partici-pated in this years Reflections’ contest!  We received 65 entries in Literature, Dance Choreography, Film Production, Visual Arts and Photography interpreting the theme, “I Can Make a Difference By…”  All entries showed a great deal of thought and creativity. Eight entries in each category are allowed to be forwarded to the District 10 competition and can possibly move onto the state and national level competition.  By February, we should hear the results of the District 10 judging.  All students who participated will be recognized in our Reflections Awards Assemblies in May.  Again, thank you to all of those who took the time to express their creativity! 

Note to Last Year’s Participants: If you have not yet done so, please pick up your photography and visual arts entries in the main office.***

 
The Reflections program is a wonderful way to recognize and support our students’ artistic endeavors.  Students can submit one or multiple entries in any of six categories: Visual Art, Photography, Literature, Musical Composition, Dance Choreography and Film/Video Production.  Revere judges will evaluate entries based on their interpretation of this year’s theme: “I Can Make A Difference By…”.  Eight will be selected from each category to enter the District 10 competition; winners go to the State and possibly onto the National PTA.  Two years ago, four of our students went to he State, two to the National, and one won an Award of Excellence in Music Composition from the National PTA.  We will recognize all entries at a grade level assembly, and local winners will receive special prizes.

Encourage your students to express themselves and let their creative juices flow.  An application form and rules for each category are included in the packet.  All entries must be submitted in the Main Office by Friday, December 14th.

One other note; students must complete forms, attach them to their entries and put them in the Reflections Box.  We aren’t asking teachers to be responsible for submitting the entries for them.  Please emphasize that we can only accept those placed in the box before the due date.
