The following is important information about the application process at Revere.
This year selection for admission to the sixth grade in the Charter school will be by lottery. All applications received between December 3rd 2007 and February 1st 2008 will be eligible for the lottery. Keep your receipt-it is your proof of application. The lottery will be held on April 2nd 2008, at 7 pm in the Auditorium. It is not necessary to be present for the lottery; however, you may attend if you wish.
Prospective seventh and eighth grader students: Depending on class sizes, we may accept incoming seventh or eighth graders. Applications for incoming seventh and eighth grade students will be placed on a list in the order they are received, and are not subject to the sixth grade lottery.
Letters of acceptance to Revere, or notification of placement on the wait list will be mailed April 14th. If you have not received a letter by April 21st, contact the school to make sure we have the correct address on file. Please do not contact the school regarding acceptance or wait list status until after April 21st.
If your child is accepted, we will mail you the enrollment packet as well as a list of documents that are necessary for enrollment. The paperwork should be turned in to the Attendance Office by May 30th 2008. If paperwork is not turned in by May 30th, we will assume that you do not want your child to attend Revere in the fall, and we will offer the space to a student on the wait list.
Should space become available in the Charter school, students will be called off the wait list. Please do not contact the school regarding wait list status. We will contact you if space becomes available, which may be anytime from the end of June 2008, through the beginning of the school year, up until Norm Day (early October 2008).
Please note: There is no District Bus transportation provided to Charter Students. If you would like to apply for District Bus transportation, you must fill out and send in the Choices brochure. The Choices brochure is mailed out by LAUSD November 15th, and is due January 11th. Choices brochures are also available in the Main Office.
