Admission Questions
I have a child who is a current seventh grader at Revere. Will my current fifth grader be automatically accepted to Revere in the sixth grade?
— Yes. Students with siblings who will be attending Revere concurrently will be automatically accepted (i.e., fifth graders with siblings in the sixth or seventh grade at Revere, not in eighth grade). Please come to the attendance office after December 1st to fill out an enrollment packet (see directions in “Sibling” section above).
My child attends Marquez Elementary. Do I need to fill out an application for Revere?
— No. Any student who attends fifth grade at one of our five feeder elementary schools (Marquez, Palisades, Kenter Canyon, Canyon and Topanga) will be automatically accepted at Revere. We will receive all information necessary for enrollment from Marquez Elementary.
My child was accepted into the Charter School. How do I get District bus transportation?
— There is no District bus transportation provided to regular Charter school students. The only programs that offer District bus transportation are Magnet, Permits with Transportation (PWT) and Public School Choice (PSC). These three programs require an application through the LAUSD Choices brochure mailed home by November 17, 2008 by the District. The Choices application deadline is January 9, 2009. The District provides transportation only to those students who have applied and been accepted into the Magnet, PWT or PSC program.
I don’t live in the Revere attendance area, but my sister does. Can I use her address to enroll my child at Revere?
— No. In order to enroll as a resident student at Revere, you must provide proof of residency in our attendance area. We require a current DWP or Gas Company bill, in the parent/guardian’s name. You and your child must live full-time in Revere’s attendance area in order to be guaranteed admission as a resident. You may apply for the Charter school through our regular application process if you do not live in the Revere attendance area.
I have applied for the Magnet program (or PWT program, or PSC program) by sending in the Choices brochure for my child. Can I also apply for the Charter school?
— Yes! You may apply to the Magnet (or PWT, or PSC) and the Charter. If you are not accepted in the Magnet, PWT or PSC program, you may be chosen through the lottery for acceptance into the Charter program. Remember that there is no District bus transportation provided without Magnet, PWT or PSC status.
