  • Important Community News; LA CRUZ PARKLET DEBATE  LADOT has proposed a "Parklet", or green space initiative, in Pacific Palisades in a parking spot in front of the Garden Cafe which many Paul Revere students frequent after school as a popular eatery. The proposed project is called the "La Cruz Parklet".  A 'parklet'  is the conversion of street parking to a modular constructed seating venue with tables, chairs and additional seating. This proposed parklet will be constructed in what is now a parking spot, on the street right in front of the Cafe entrance. Attached is an overview of the proposed project. You may print out and voice your support or opposition to the parklet using the attached form or by email at peoplest@lacity.org, by August 22nd.

The PPCC has also set up a community meeting on September 11th for citizens to come and voice their thoughts on the proposed parklet. Click here to learn more (http://www.pp90272.org/agenda.htm) and come to the meeting at the Pacific Palisades Library on September 11th to hear more and voice your thoughts. The meeting will be at the Palisades Branch Library Community Meeting Room from 7-9pm. LADOT representative Valerie Watson and members of Pacific Palisades PRIDE organization will be present to answer questions.  Interested community members are encouraged to participate and express opinions about the Parklet project.

PRCMS parent, Maryam Zar, is the middle school representative to the Pacific Palisades Community Council this year. This information is being shared since the debate on Parklet issue concerns a location that is frequented by students from PRCMS.  Maryam will be present at the September 11th community meeting.
