This is my 20th year teaching middle school. My philosophy is to engage students to be interested in history. My curriculum integrates political science, art history, language arts, graphic design, anthropology, microbiology, economics, geography, philosophy and world religions into a historical framework. Lessons and units will focus on big ideas or themes such as change, survival, adaptation, fear, intolerance and conflict resolution. Lessons will engage students to think critically about history. And most important, I want my lessons to be fun.
I have a son in 7th grade. I have traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Australia, Central America, Europe, Africa and the United States.
